R. Rolf Whitney
R. Rolf Whitney was born May 15, 1957, in Richland County, Ohio. He graduated from Lexington High School in 1975 then attended Denison University. In 1979, he received his B.A. in Political Science from Denison along with a Secondary School Teaching Certificate for Social Studies, from the State of Ohio. Thereafter, Rolf attended the University of Dayton School of Law, receiving his degree in 1982. While attending school he was employed in commercial construction and in a local factory.
Rolf Whitney has been engaged in the practice of law since joining the firm of Inscore Rinehardt and Whitney in 1982. His practice consists primarily of criminal defense in the north central Ohio area including Richland, Crawford, Morrow, Ashland, Knox and Huron Counties.
He is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Richland County Bar Association. He holds a Death Penalty certification from the Ohio State Supreme Court.
Rolf has been active in several organizations, such as Lexington Athletic Boosters (serving on the Board of Directors), Independent Contest and Pleasure Horse Association (also serving on the Board), member of Mid-Ohio Concert Band, and various coaching activities, including former employment as a seventh grade football coach for Lexington Junior High. In addition, he served three full terms as an elected member of the Lexington Local School Board of Education.
Rolf also holds Diving and Crossfit Level One certifications.
Rolf Whitney has 3 children: Morgen Whitney (graduate of Liberty University and operating a horse farm in Lexington, KY), Cody Whitney Miller (graduate of Austin Peay State University and married to W/O James Miller, US Army), and Gabriel Whitney (graduate of Hocking Technical College and a student at Kent State University).
