Robert H. Whitney
Robert H. Whitney was born October 18, 1935 in Lexington, Ohio. He graduated from Lexington High School in 1953, and was drafted into the U. S. Army and served his country for two years. After completing his military service, Mr. Whitney worked in commercial construction and attended night school at Ashland College. Thereafter he attended and graduated with a B.A. in Social Studies from Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio. He remained at Ohio Northern and attended law school, receiving his Juris Doctorate degree in 1962.
Mr. Whitney began practicing law in Mansfield, Ohio in 1962. In l972, along with Attorneys John J. Rinehardt and Larry Inscore, he formed the present day law firm. The majority of his practice is in the field of Criminal Law. He has tried several hundred jury trials including several death penalty cases. Bob Whitney practices primarily in Richland, Ashland, Morrow, Crawford, Huron, and Knox Counties.
Mr. Whitney has been a member of the Lexington Local Schools Board of Education since April, l964, and has been president of that board for 35 to 40 years.
Bob Whitney married to Carole Auer, a high school classmate in 1956. They have four adult children, Attorney R. Rolf Whitney, Tam Whitney Schuster [Court Reporter], Attorney M. Lore’ Whitney, and Capt. Michael Whitney [Continental-United Airlines].
